Regular Season Round 12: Telavi - Sigulda 110-64

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked LatvianSigulda (0-9) was crushed by twenty sixth ranked Georgian Telavi (3-5) 110-64 on Saturday. Telavi trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 18-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 110-64. Telavi dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sigulda 's 22. Telavi forced 21 Sigulda turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Telavi looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikoloz Tuliani (160-2010) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists and Nikolozi Bodaveli (-2009) who added 45 points (!!!) and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Ralfs Garancs with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Aleksis Putns scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telavi have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Telavi went down to 37th position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sigulda still closes the standings with nine games lost.
